Do you need to take additional supplements while following this meal plan?

This meal plan is constructed in a way that meets the nutritional needs of most healthy adults.  In case of any vitamin/mineral deficiency consult with your physician for treatment. Vitamin D is an exception that can be met in most cases via direct sunlight exposure (please refer to official guidelines on meeting vitamin D requirements or consult a physician). Vitamin B12 may need additional supplementing since the fortification of foods can vary.
