Ingredients

  • 2 cups chickpeas cooked or 1 1/4 can
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • juice of a half lemon
  • 1-2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil +1 tsp for topping
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 cup water or more depending on desired consistency
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika and a pinch for topping optional

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until all well combined and smooth.
  • Taste the hummus to see if it’s got enough salt. Add water at this step, if more liquid consistency is desired.
  • To serve hummus, place it to a small bowl and drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle some paprika or chili flakes and sesame seeds on top (all optional). Bring some sliced veggies (carrot, cucumber, bell peppers) and/or wholegrain crackers on the side.
