Ever since I attempted to bake this Easy Vegan Whole-Wheat Bread with Seeds myself, I try to substitute store-bought bread as much as possible for home-baked one. The simplicity of the process and the accomplishment feeling of taking out fresh hot loaf out of the oven are so fulfilling!
And all you need is some simple basic ingredients, like four, water, salt, and yeast, plus any seeds you have in your pantry (and that’s optional). Here I’ve got sunflower, sesame and flax seeds.
The process is very simple too: just mix all dry ingredients in a bowl and wet ingredients separately, merge them together, let the dough rest a bit and it’s ready to go to the oven.
Before baking, I like to top dough with some extra seeds, for even more crunchiness. And, to me, seeds just look great on top of bread loaf!
A bit more impatient waiting before our bread is ready for tasting (approx. 30-40 mins in the over). And voila, here is the beauty! I love the combination of softness and crunchiness in this bread recipe! It also is a bit moist and has a sweetish taste, due to maple syrup (or another sweetener of your choice). Just add slightly less sweetener if that’s not something you would enjoy.
This Easy Vegan Whole-Wheat Bread with Seeds is absolutely best while right out of the oven. Alternatively, keep in a sealed container for up to three days.
Since bread is a product that is high in calories and low in nutrition , it is advised to consume it in limited quantities. Whole-wheat (compared with white flour) flour makes bread more nutritious and slower to break down by bacteria in the gut, it is still relatively low in nutrition.
